VALLEY SANTA: Mom struggles financially after leaving toxic relationship

The Citizens' Voice - 12/7/2022

Dec. 7—Local mother Elizabeth said she has been struggling financially after leaving a toxic relationship with her children's father and moving to another state.

In a letter to Valley Santa, Elizabeth said she is now unemployed and unable to work due to medical complications.

She worries she will not be able to provide Christmas presents for her two daughters Emily and Hannah so she asked for Valley Santa's help.

"I believe we're looking at another winter with no Christmas due to financial reasons and both my girls still believe in Santa," Elizabeth wrote. "I can't lie to them again this Christmas. Any help would be greatly appreciated."

Valley Santa relies on donations to purchase Christmas gifts for children in need like Emily and Hannah. Everyone is encouraged to donate to Valley Santa.

How to donate: Donations may be mailed to Valley Santa Inc., P.O. Box 5276, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711, or dropped off at any M&T Bank branch to purchase Christmas gifts for children in need in Luzerne County. People also can donate online at valleysanta.org.

How to request help: Write a letter to Valley Santa, P.O. Box 5268, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711, explaining the need that exists in as much detail as possible. The letter must be co-signed by a clergy member, case/social worker or school or health personnel and must include their address and evening telephone number for confirmation.
